About
Code, search and the space between.

I’m Ajwa Malik, a full-stack developer and SEO engineer. I build websites, web apps, WordPress products and AI tools for law firms, clinics, e-commerce brands and agencies.
Most of my work starts with a problem rather than a brief: a site that won’t index, a store that needs to move platforms, a WordPress install that keeps getting reinfected, or a team still running payroll and tax on spreadsheets. I find out what is really happening, measure it, then build the smallest thing that fixes it properly.
I started by turning Figma designs into websites, more than fifty of them, then led a delivery team building over thirty sites at once. Today I work as a senior full-stack developer for agencies and businesses in the US, UK, Canada and the UAE, and I run my own studio, Inovista.
The work I’m proudest of runs every week for real people: a multi-state tax platform that prepares returns for 85 registrations across 33 states, a payroll system that pays a distributed team, and SEO programmes that put clients in front of hundreds of thousands of searches a month.
Alongside all of this I’m studying for a Bachelor of Cardiology Technology at Khyber Medical University. Medicine taught me the habit I bring to code: measure first, then treat the cause, not the symptom.
I work in TypeScript, Next.js, React, Node.js, Python and PHP, with WordPress, Shopify, Medusa and Postgres, and I build AI features with Claude, Gemini and local models where they genuinely help.
What’s next
Next stop: New York.
For the last few years I’ve built for American teams from the other side of the world, working on Pacific and Eastern time. Most of the people I build for are in the States. New York is where I want to be next.
I want to be in the room: working in person with a product team, an agency or a startup that cares about craft as much as speed. New York has more of the work I love in one place than anywhere else: law firms, finance, media, commerce and a startup scene that ships.
What I’d bring is the full path, from design and front end to APIs, databases, SEO and the AI features on top, plus the part most people skip: keeping it running once real users arrive.
How I’m getting there
- Already working US hours with US clients, every week.
- Shipping real products that teams rely on: PayPoint, Huddle and Review Engine.
- Growing Inovista as a studio for US law firms and SaaS clients.
- Writing about what I learn on the blog.
- Open to full-time roles, contracts and relocation to New York.
Hiring in New York, or know someone who is? I’d love to talk.
